September weddings have begun in full force and I couldn’t be more glad!! I started my fall wedding season with Cara and Mike at Tatum Park and their gorgeous lavender and sage filled wedding day.
Cara and Mike met the summer of 2011 at a mutual friend’s party in NJ and spent that summer having fun and getting to know each other. Much of what they did was outdoors, which lead to them planning a cross country road trip to California to celebrate their love for adventure! The two ventured out west to explore the country and all it had to offer. Their two-week adventure turned into a 6 year stay in southern California where they currently still live and work!! While on their trip, Mike proposed at Anza Borega Desert State Park (think a mini Grand Canyon!) while they were hiking. The two missed part of the canyon and at another hiker’s suggestion, they turned around. When they got to this neat part of the canyon, Mike proposed and obviously Cara said of course!
I loved how much their wedding day truly reflected who they are as a couple, full of fun details – like a wall of homemade beer, signature drinks, cornhole games, and personalized cups for their drinks! My favorite part of their incredible sage and lavender filled wedding day had to be their sunset portraits. The light was just perfect and you could see how much they loved each other as Mike twirled Cara around, threw seeds for her to dance in and as they cheered each other walking back to the reception tent together. Those are the moments I LIVE for! Thank you for letting me be a part of your incredible day, Mike and Cara!!
