Yeah I know, it’s almost February but it’s never too late to post the best of anything!
2018 has been an amazing year both professionally and personally, and I am so thankful to each and every one of the incredible couples I worked with this year. I’m thankful to them for letting me be a part of one of the biggest days of their lives and for trusting me so completely to capture these precious and once-in-a-lifetime memories. After getting married myself this year, I get it! You literally want photos of everything and everyone!! haha I mean how often do you get to look as awesome as you do on your wedding day surrounded by all your favorite people! I don’t take my job as a wedding photographer lightly and I hope that my clients can feel that. What I do is so special and I am genuinely happy for my clients of their wedding days. I’m definitely not a lovely dovey, shows a lot of emotion type of person. For those who really know me, will definitely agree but somehow one of the most emotional days of a persons life happens to be what I love to document.
This year, I worked with over 20 couples in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and even flew to Florida. I met some incredible bridesmaids, groomsmen and families throughout the year. I was amazed by the unique weddings my couples (and their planners!) pulled together – the details on so many of my weddings this year were just jaw dropping! Ashley Mac brides and grooms had ceremonies indoors and out, gorgeous modern decor, vintage cars, dog ring bearers, sang with the bands, etc.. But I loved that every wedding I photographed this year reflected on the couple, celebrating their day perfectly! One couple incorporated their love of Harry Potter, another had their bridesmaids in ALL white, a bride wore suede boots with her dress, groom wore game of thrones socks, and that’s just a few off the type of my head. Clearly I remember these in particular because I own about 10 pairs of boots, I love white everything, my dog was my flower girl and yes, I love Game of Thrones and Harry Potter!
I don’t know if it was just because I also got married this year or what, but I felt so connected to my brides – and that’s an amazing job perk! I guess being on the other side of things shows you a new perspective, in a good way.
To each of my 2018 couples, I hope you know how much I truly loved being a part of your day and you enjoy taking a quick look back at my 2018 weddings (cause you’ll be in it)! Oh and make sure you don’t miss my behind the scenes post from my 2018 wedding season here! (You might see your wedding day there as well)
