Katie and Tony had a beautiful beach wedding this September at Sandy Hook Chapel – and it was everything this sweet couple dreamed of. When Katie and Tom were planning their wedding, they knew from the start their day should have a beach inspired and relaxed feeling. Their entire day was planned around the area and they really focused on bringing out what makes Monmouth County special. Enjoy a peek into their romantic wedding day!
The Couple
Katie and Tony met through Bumble and said they immediately hit it off! The two had their first date in June of 2016 at Copper Union in Hoboken and have been inseparable ever since. Over the years, they’ve found many things they enjoy doing together including cooking, drinking wine, and finding new restaurants to try. They also enjoy traveling but knew for their wedding day, they’d want to keep things close to home. Katie grew up close to Sandy Hook. So, once they started looking for somewhere to have their wedding they realized Sandy Hook felt right.
Sandy Hook Chapel Wedding
Surprisingly, finding the right reception venue turned out to be a little bit tough for Katie and Tony. Most of the venues in the area didn’t have the vibe that the newlyweds were looking for. But, once they walked into Sandy Hook Chapel, they knew they’d found the spot they’d want to celebrate being married at! The two tied the knot at St. James Church, a part of Red Bank Catholic where both Katie and myself went to school! After their gorgeous church ceremony, they had their reception at Sandy Hook Chapel overlooking the bay… and we had the most beautiful sunset!
Katie and Tony worked hard with their vendors to really create a unique feeling to their wedding day. The florals for the day had an autumnal vibe but were also filled with little beach accents of driftwood for escort table and table centerpieces. There’s nothing like walking into a wedding and seeing fall colored florals, such as roses and dahlias, among beach rocks and driftwood. Their sperry tented open-air wedding reception was just gorgeous. It was the perfect way to celebrate a bayside wedding with the most perfect weather in September. There is seriously nothing more romantic than beach wedding portraits, especially at golden hour overlooking the sunset!
My favorite part…
My favorite part of Katie and Tony’s wedding day had to have been their amazing bridal party. With 22 people altogether, they worked together to create a really special day for Katie and Tony. And they absolutely ROCKED all of their photos with me. I absolutely love when bridal parties are so awesome and supportive of the bride and groom. Katie and Tony, you are so loved!!! Thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding day. As someone who grew up coming to Sandy Hook beach, your celebration was even more special to me! Congratulations!
