Melissa and Guillermo’s wedding at The Mill Lakeside Manor in Spring Lake, New Jersey was filled with emotion, meaningful details, and a beautiful lakeside backdrop that perfectly matched their vision. Their story began at Jamian’s restaurant where Melissa worked as a bartender and Guillermo worked as a barback. Over time they discovered how naturally their personalities fit together and how much joy they found in shared routines like cooking seafood, fishing on quiet mornings, and spoiling their dog Leia with mozzarella cheese.
Their wedding day reflected that same sense of comfort and connection. It was elegant, heartfelt, and full of warm, genuine moments that showcased why The Mill Lakeside Manor is one of the best wedding venues in New Jersey.

Pinterest Inspired Wedding Details in Emerald, Gold, and White
Melissa envisioned a timeless and modern celebration with a color palette of emerald green, gold, and white. She collected inspiration from Pinterest and created a cohesive look that blended beautifully with the natural scenery at The Mill. Their invitation suite matched this theme perfectly with rich emerald tones and subtle gold accents.
Her bridal gown by Angel Rivera paired with her Manolo Blahnik heels created a sophisticated, clean bridal style. Bridesmaids wore dresses from Azazie in tones that coordinated with the green and gold aesthetic. The florals from Craig Kiely Designs brought everything together through soft white blooms and lush greenery.
This elegant color palette photographed beautifully at The Mill, especially during the outdoor portraits around the lake.

Getting Ready at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Neptune
Both Melissa and Guillermo spent their morning at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Neptune and Wall. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of excitement. Hair was styled by The Pin Up Girl and makeup was done by Dayna along with Kyli Gray, who created soft glam looks that lasted throughout the humid summer day.
Once everyone was ready the couple traveled to The Mill Lakeside Manor for their first look and portraits.

First Look at The Mill Lakeside Manor
The couple shared a first look along the lakeside path at The Mill, one of the venue’s most loved portrait locations. The soft greenery surrounding the lake complemented their color palette while the water created a peaceful backdrop.
When Guillermo turned and saw Melissa, the moment instantly softened. His expression showed admiration and joy while Melissa’s smile said everything about how ready they were to start the next chapter of their lives. The first look allowed them to spend meaningful time together before the ceremony and also ensured they could enjoy their full cocktail hour later in the evening.

A Golden Hour Ceremony by the Lake
Their ceremony took place at 6:00 PM during golden hour. The warm light, calm breeze, and stunning lake views created the perfect outdoor setting. Guests watched from the waterfront as Melissa walked down the aisle with the support of her family. Guillermo stood surrounded by his parents and siblings, creating a ceremony that felt intimate and full of love.
Their vows reflected the everyday moments that define their relationship. Cooking dinners together. Cheering for the NJ Devils. Fishing on quiet mornings. And of course, laughing about how their sweet dog Leia somehow hears the cheese drawer open from anywhere in the house.
The ceremony ended at 6:30 PM and the couple walked back up the aisle with huge smiles.

Cocktail Hour and Reception at The Mill
One of the reasons Melissa and Guillermo chose The Mill Lakeside Manor was the incredible cocktail hour room. The space exceeded their expectations with its abundant natural light, water views, and warm hospitality. Because their portraits were taken earlier, they enjoyed the entire cocktail hour with their guests.
The reception began at 7:30 PM with a joyful entrance followed by their first dance to Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. The room glowed with white florals, candlelight, and soft golden accents. Family dances added sentimental moments and Limelight Entertainment kept the dance floor full for the entire evening.
Guests cheered during the bouquet toss and gathered around for the cake cutting which featured a custom cake by Palermo Custom Cakes in Little Ferry, New Jersey.

A Family Focused Celebration
Melissa and Guillermo have close relationships with their families and those connections were a major part of the day. Both sets of parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews contributed to the joy of the entire celebration. Their flower girl, Nila, added sweetness and excitement as she walked down the aisle.
After the ceremony we gathered family for portraits at The Mill and the lakefront scenery created a clean and beautiful backdrop for timeless family photographs.

A Wedding Day That Felt Authentically Them
What made Melissa and Guillermo’s wedding so special was its authenticity. They did not include unnecessary extras. They focused on what mattered. Time with family. Time with each other. Good food. Beautiful music. And a celebration that felt true to their relationship.
Their wedding reflected the simple joy of being with the person who feels like home. It was warm, relaxed, emotional, and thoughtfully planned.
