Congratulations, Meghan and Elias! This summer, I had the absolute honor of photographing their elegant and timeless wedding at the Mill Lakeside Manor. Not only is this one of my favorite New Jersey wedding venues, but getting to spend the day with Meghan, Elias, and their loved ones was so incredibly special. Meghan and Elias envisioned a classic wedding day on the shore in Jersey and that’s what they planned. I can’t wait for you to see every single beautiful detail from Meghan and Elias’ celebration!
Their Love Story
Elias and Meghan met in early December 2016 on a work assignment. They were working for the same company in Washington, D.C. but didn’t meet until they were sent on this assignment in Houston, TX. They thought we would be staying in Houston but once they got there, they learned they’d be part of a smaller team going to a middle of nowhere town. Now, Meghan and Elias joke that they fell in love in a hopeless place because they were working crazy, terrible hours in a podunk town, and as soon as they flew back from Houston to Washington DC for Christmas 2016, they went on our first date! They’ve been together ever since!
New Jersey Wedding Day
Getting married at St. Mark’s was one of the most important pieces of Meghan and Elias’ wedding day. It’s where Meghan grew up attending and she had all of her sacraments there. Her family still attends regularly, and it was close to her childhood home. Both Meghan and Elias wanted to focus on having a local, hometown wedding. I love that they both thought about how to make that a reality for themselves – without compromising on the elegant and classic vision they had!
The Mill Lakeside Manor Wedding
Meghan and Elias chose a gorgeous color palette of black and white, with pops of dusty blue to accent the shore. When planning, Meghan thought carefully about each decision and often jokes the vibes of the day came from her wedding gown. She even had the designer add covered buttons down the back to give those Old Hollywood type vibes! How beautiful, right?! My favorite detail, though, is that Meghan chose a cascading bouquet because she grew up looking at the photos from her great-grandparents’ wedding day and her great-grandmother had a cascading bouquet. Everything came together beautifully for a traditional church ceremony and absolutely gorgeous reception at the Mill Lakeside Manor.
