Chelsea and Trent are married! They planned an incredible black and white New Year’s Eve wedding at the Wave Resort that I had the absolute joy of photographing for them. It was a ridiculously fun day and I love how much Chelsea and Trent leaned into the idea of the NYE celebration early on. Committing to it was the best and it made for a really fun and happy day for them and their loved ones!!
Their Love Story
Chelsea and Trent met on a blind date, set up by Chelsea’s maid of honor! After their first meet up, they planned a real first date to go rock climbing and have dinner. They realized really on that they were something special and worked hard to spend time together as often as they could! Now, they’re getting married and can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives spending days on the beach with their dogs.
New Year’s Eve Wedding
Because of their schedules, a winter wedding made the most sense. Trent loved the idea of a New Year’s Eve wedding and before they knew it, they had committed to an incredible day at the Wave Resort. Their celebration was happy and full of elegant black, white, and gold details. I love that they leaned heavily into the NYE celebration with fireworks, a guest station to write out resolutions, and disco balls everywhere during their reception. As dog parents, they also made sure the pups made appearances – both in pictures and in the details of their party in the evening. I personally think it’s so fun when couples just run with a theme like this. These wedding days often turn out to be spectacular because of it!
Wedding at the Wave Resort
Chelsea and Trent made sure to incorporate all of the things they love throughout their wedding day. That began after preparing with their “I do crews” when they met on the beach for a first look together. Trent looked quite dapper in his black and white tuxedo, while Chelsea approached him in dress #1 for the day: a ball gown! She paired it with a long cathedral veil for their church wedding day and portraits. Before entering the reception, she changed into her second dress – a sleek form fitting gown for the party! It was the perfect look for their NYE celebration!
