Nicole and Josh tied the knot in a gorgeous outdoor Rumson Country Club Riverhouse wedding this September! It was such a gorgeous day and I loved every second of it. This wedding day has been a long time coming and I know everyone was excited to celebrate Nicole and Josh!

After meeting in 2011, Nicole and Josh took a little bit of time to work up the nerve to chat with each other. But, after a few more chance meetings, the two saw each other at a Toby Keith concert one night and shared their first kiss. But when Nicole realized there was an age difference between the two, she decided she wasn’t interested romantically. Over the next two years, Josh continued to pursue her - and everyone thought she was crazy to not date him. Soon after, Nicole realized she did have feelings for him and at another Toby Keith concert in 2013, Josh asked her to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history! 

The Proposal

A few days before they were engaged, Nicole’s sister-in-law Kristyn asked them if they wanted to go to Laurita Winery - although it rained, everyone was having a good time and Nicole didn't think anything was off. After enjoying some wine, Kristyn mentioned she wanted a photo with Nicole’s brother. Since it was so rainy, everyone kind of blew it off but she mentioned it a few more times. As they were getting ready to leave, Kristyn mentioned it again and Nicole suggested they take the photo by the front door so they wouldn’t get wet.

Kristyn insisted that Nicole and Josh go first - Nicole said she was so anxious to leave and get to the fair they had to work, that she was going to say no… but surprisingly Josh said they would get one. Since he normally refuses, Nicole was already a bit surprised but went with it! All of a sudden, Josh pulled the ring out of his pocket and dropped to one knee. Obviously Nicole said yes!!! The biggest shock of all was when her dad and other brother came out from the building to congratulate them too! 

Rumson Country Club Wedding 

When I asked them how they chose the Rumson Country Club Riverhouse, Nicole and Josh told me they didn’t even go look at venues! They knew from the start they wanted their wedding day there! It gave them the perfect balance of nautical and rustic for their big day. With white and green details throughout the day, Nicole and Josh’s Rumson Country Club wedding day was just stunning. It was a truly elegant day with touches of the rustic look both Nicole and Josh love so much. With pale pink bridesmaid dresses to add a pop of color, their entire day came together perfectly.

The two tied the knot in a simple ceremony overlooking the water at the Rumson Country Club Riverhouse. Framed by a simple rustic arbor, their first kiss was picture-perfect! After their sweet ceremony, everyone headed indoors to party the night away! All of their guests had an amazing time partying through the night. I was surprised to see everyone doing the limbo and even playing spin the bottle on the dance floor! What a party and way to celebrate Nicole and Josh!

My Favorite Part… 

There were a lot of things I loved about this gorgeous wedding. Hands down, working at this beautiful venue was one of my favorite parts of Nicole and Josh’s wedding day. I LOVE photographing Rumson Country Club Riverhouse wedding days and I totally agree with Nicole and Josh that the rustic - yet boathouse - feel you get here is what makes it special!

The other thing that really stood out to me about Nicole and Josh’s day was how much her mother was celebrated. Nicole lost her mother a few years ago unexpectedly and got married on her mother’s birthday. Everyone made sure to take the time to remember Nicole’s mom with a special toast and Nicole had a photo of her mother tied to her wedding bouquet… and did I mention that her dad owns Guaranteed Plants and Florist, their florist for the day? There was a sign on their door that said “Closed for the day for a wedding!”. It was so sweet!!!
