Cassie and Kirk’s intimate dinner party at The Herbary Bear Creek Farm to celebrate their wedding was absolutely stunning!! I honestly expected nothing else because Cassie is an amazing florist and owns Cassandra Shah Flowers & Event Design. Cassie and Kirk met online when Cassie “swiped right” because Kirk’s profile said he loved to eat and so does she (as she put it!). After hearing Cassie’s brothers speech, it sounds like Cassie is quite the cook too! It turned out that their brothers had gone to school together and their moms knew each other – so it felt like they were dating friends all the way from the beginning. The two began dating and 4 months quickly flew by. Before Cassie left on a backpacking trip, Kirk asked her to be his girlfriend. He made a point of traveling to Sydney to be with her on New Year’s Eve and before they knew it, they lived together, adopted their puppy Oliver and were planning a wedding!
What’s extra amazing about these two is that this wedding was planned in only a few short months! Cassie took incredible care to create nods to the important people and places in their lives through the decor and floral arrangements. Since the trip to Australia turned out to play a big part in their relationship, she added Australian flowers to her arrangements. The olives on their stationery were a nod to their pup, Olive (and Kirk’s Italian side!). Some of the arrangements she made had a minimal feel to them to incorporate her Japanese heritage… And everything all came together perfectly to create an intimate, boho, greenhouse wedding for these two! Seriously the day was perfect from start to finish!! But beyond being stunning, Cassie and Kirk’s day was really about the two of them. I loved that throughout the day they really took the time to be together – especially during their reception when they read notes back to back privately. It’s a great reminder about what a wedding day is all about!
My favorite part of their day was just how truly intimate it felt. With only 45 guests, their day was really all about the people that mattered most to them. Cassie and Kirk really took the time to make their day what they wanted! From the traditional ceremony at Kirk’s family’s church, to Cassie making the floral arrangements, to the amazing eclectic food and dessert so all their family and friends could enjoy. This unique wedding was one for the books. Cassie and Kirk, congratulations again! I am so thankful I was able to be there to celebrate with you!!
