The Lake House Wedding in Lanesboro, MA

After a long-distance relationship, it’s no surprise that Danielle and Jeff created an incredible rustic, laid-back wedding day at the Lake House in Lanesboro, MA completely inspired by vintage wanderlust. These two designed a simply gorgeous day full of navy, aqua, blush, and gold tones, all inspired by vintage maps expressing their love to travel! The newlyweds chose a gorgeous venue right on the lake in the Berkshires that served as the perfect spot for them to say I do. They told me that they cried when they saw it after falling in love with it online – and they had to book the Lake House right away! It was a great decision, you two!

The Love Story

I love asking my couples about how they met and got engaged. I couldn’t say it any better than Danielle and Jeff, so here’s their love story according to them! “Visiting her childhood friend Laura in Boston during a work trip, Danielle crashed the birthday party of Laura’s friend Jess. She arrived at the bar ready to mingle. On the other side of the party, Jeff was also in attendance but was coming off a long day & not in a party mood. Unbeknownst to Danielle, Jeff was also a mutual friend of Laura’s & had worked with their Boston friend circle at Equinox for many years. It was a serendipitous meeting, as the only single party goers, Danielle & Jeff ended up closing the bar, exchanging stories about their families, world travels & future ambitions. (Even though Jeff claims Danielle aggressively told him to stay – the point is, they were both intrigued by each other.) The night ended with an Uber ride & good night kiss with the promise of a future proper first date. “

The Proposal

“Two weeks later, Danielle flew back to Boston for what turned into a first date weekend of dancing the night away at a jazz club, going to a Red Sox game & brunching at Painted Burro, which has since become one of their favorites. The first of many weekends the couple spent together over their long distance relationship between Boston & NYC. They always made the best of it, making every minute count instead of counting the minutes, fitting in trips to St. Lucia, Seattle, Lake Tahoe, Florida, Cape Cod, the Jersey Shore & Grenada along the way. The couple also spent many weekends at Jeff’s parents’ lake house in CT, the true inspiration for their wedding location. After 1.5 years of living on planes, trains & automobiles, the stars aligned & Danielle was offered a job in Boston, a career opportunity she could not refuse & one that finally put the couple in the same zip code. They closed on their condo a year later & Jeff proposed just days before their move-in date.”

My Favorite Part

Danielle and Jeff’s day was beautiful from start to finish. But we really lucked out with the weather!! It couldn’t have been more perfect out. This was my first time photographing a destination travel wedding overlooking a lake in the Berkshires – and I was really lucky to have this couple to photograph! They were naturals in front of the camera and did their own thing as you’ll see below. ; ) Danielle was really my kind of bride – barefoot and in a beautiful blush BHLDN dress!! As always, I loved getting to work with Adorn Market and Blue Mae Events putting together the most amazing details. Can we talk about the travel inspo welcome station, those twinkle lights and hanging lanterns?! Those two together and we’re guaranteed an event with stunning details!! There good friend Melissa surprised them singing “Tiny Dancer” bringing everyone to tears, the mobile bar (built by the groom!) was a hit and the band, Howl at the Moon from Boston, kept everyone on the dance all night long!

Congratulations again Danielle and Jeff!!!!
