Kelly and Kyle’s love story began in June of 2012 and they just celebrated becoming husband and wife last weekend!! These two met at Hooks Bar in Seaside Heights during a friend’s birthday party where Kelly made Kyle dance with her and the rest was history! Their first official date started with tacos and ended with a sunset cruise, which is so romantic, so it was no surprise when they wound up getting engaged!! These two have celebrated many adventures together in including trapeze lessons, beer tastings on the Clipper in NYC, a Bruce Springsteen concert at Met Life Stadium… the list goes on and on, but their adventures are always together!
They settled on a September wedding date for their intimate, family-filled wedding day at the Smithville Inn! It was stunning. Kelly told me she loved their venue because of how homey and cozy the fireplaces made it feel – plus those gorgeous windows! Smithville is a beautiful little town and even managed to fulfill one of Kelly’s childhood dreams of having a carousel at her wedding. I mean, seriously?! How much fun is that?! Kelly and Kyle decided on a purple and green color scheme for their wedding, aiming to keep rustic touches throughout the day to compliment their romantic venue. I love that her bridesmaids gowns and florals were all a little different arrangements of lavender, eucalyptus and seasonal wildflowers. (just wait until you see the pictures below!). It was seriously my favorite part of their wedding day at Smithville Inn! And we have to talk about Kelly’s wedding dress! Kelly worked with Anomalie to help her design and create her own vision for her wedding dress resulting in a one of a kind full lace custom gown and vial.
When I asked Kelly what she would tell other engaged couples, she told me: “One piece of advice we can give other couples is that there is no rush to plan everything the second you are engaged. Take time to enjoy your engagement period. Also, Pinterest is your best friend for inspiration but remember you can not always recreate everything that you see so don’t be afraid to put your own personal style on it. Something will go wrong on your wedding day but you have to just roll with it because no one else will notice except you. The day isn’t about the cake or the dress; it is about the love you have for each other and celebrating that love for everyone to see.”
Enjoy the sneak peek from this stunning, rustic wedding day at Smithville Inn. Kelly and Kyle, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
