meet ashley - your wedding day bff.

Brittany and Phil’s Memorial Day Weekend wedding was definitely a highlight of my wedding season exactly one year ago! I love their love story, so I’ll let them tell you all about their history together… Brittany and Phil met at the University of Delaware during their sophomore and freshman years. The end of the following year they both coincidentally signed up for the same organized bus trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee where Delaware was playing Appalachian State for the NCAA Championship game. Delaware lost, but Brit and Phil won (as they say!). The two connected during the tailgate and hung out during a majority of the game. When returning to the buses Phil yelled from across the parking lot to Brittany to remind her that she promised him they’d sit together on the way home. Brittany’s friends confirmed. And they did – all 12 hours.

When they returned Phil didn’t even ask for Brittany’s number. But they connected over AIM (that’s how long ago it was) and later over text. One night when Brittany was… out with her friends.. she worked up the nerve to ask Phil to come visit for NYE before she went off to Turkey to study abroad. He did. He spent three days and two nights at Brittany’s mom’s, meeting her whole family and friends of family. Reminder: this was the second time they had hung out.

Then he wrote her over email at least once a day the whole time she was away. Upon returning to school the two quickly started dating. 5 years later the two moved in together with their cat, Neekta, in Hoboken. The rest is history.

The two had a gorgeous May wedding in New Brunswick, NJ at the Heldrich Hotel on Memorial Day weekend!  Their day was full of gorgeous gold and pink accents – all in the perfect romantic and elegant combinations. Everyone there was smiling and it was so clear that they’re loved as much as they love each other. I feel so lucky that they asked me to be a part of their special day!

My favorite part of Brittany & Phil’s wedding was the dance off between the bride and groom- of course, Brittany won but it was a close call! The dance floor was packed all night with their family and friends celebrating these college sweet heart’s finally getting hitched! Scroll below to see a few of my favorites photos from their beautiful day!
